I believe that it’s my mission in life to “Burst the Bubble”. To make people challenge their situation and go from possibly uncomfortable to learning. Or just being uncomfortable. Or not learning. Life is full of choices. It’s all up to you.
9 DOTS meaning:
“The conundrum is easily resolved, but only by drawing the lines outside the confines of the square area defined by the NINE DOTS themselves. The phrase “thinking outside the box” is a restatement of the solution strategy.” OUTSIDE THE BOX defined: “Think creatively, unimpeded by orthodox or conventional constraints.” One of my greatest mentors once used this phrase when counseling me. I’m sure she used it on many others that had the privilege of being her subjects.
DON’T TAKE YOURSELF SO SERIOUSLY
Another great mentor of mine, my first other than my parents, said to me when I was 22 years old, “Don’t take yourself so seriously”. This one concept was a great gift.
These are two of the greatest pieces of advice I ever received. However, I could have easily ignored them and gone on along a path of obstinance. But instead, I embraced them.
It reminds me of my favorite poem.
THE ROAD NOT TAKEN
by Robert Frost (1920).
TWO roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
|To where it bent in the undergrowth;||5|
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
|Had worn them really about the same,||10|
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
|I doubted if I should ever come back.||15|
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
